Our theme that the children have chosen at the start of this term will be....

Welcome to Year 3!


 Summer Term, 2019

 

Following the Literacy and Numeracy framework set out by the Welsh Government, we are prioritising literacy and numeracy in every aspect of the curriculum. To ensure that we are responding to the requirements of the new curriculum for Wales, we will be teaching thematically in the afternoon.

Theme:  By the Seaside - After receiving a letter from 'Keep Wales Tidy' and the book 'Somebody Swallowed Stanley', the children have decided on the theme 'By the Seaside'. We will be taking part in a beach clean on a North Wales Coast, local litter pick and helping to improve the environment in every way possible in Llangollen and beyond. Our theme work will be based on sea creatures, helping the planet Welsh coastlines. The theme work will be completed in English.

Maths: We will be completing activities and lessons based on place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, shape and measure, time and money. 

Language: Formal letter, report and poetry. All language work will be based on our theme, By the Seaside. Language work will be completed through the medium of Welsh. 

Science: Our Sustainable word

PSHE: Developing a sustainable and global citizenship.

Design and Technology / Art: Create a artifact out of recycled material. Create a sea murual using plastic.
