Welcome to Year 4!

Spring Term 2021

Farm to fork to be incorporated into the European sustainable food system

Welcome back after a difficult and challenging period, it's a pleasure to have you all safely back at school. At the beginning of the Spring term, our main focus is to ensure that all pupils are happy and settled within their new classes. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school.

Following the Literacy and Numeracy framework set out by the Welsh Government, we are prioritising literacy and numeracy in every aspect of the curriculum. To ensure that we are responding to the requirements of the new curriculum for Wales, we will be teaching thematically in the afternoon.

Theme: Farm to Fork. As we returned to school after the half term, we received a letter from Farmer Adam Henson asking for us to promote local produce, and to show our support for local and worldwide farmers.

Maths: We will be completing activities and lessons based on place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, shape and measure, time and money.

Language: Instructions, Rules and Recipes. All language work will be based on our theme, Farm to Fork. Language work will be completed through the medium of Welsh.

Science: Health and Food

PSHE: Growth mindset

Design and Technology / Art: Creative tasks will be completed in theme work during afternoon lessons.

PE: Dance and Gymnastics / Sports outside every Thursday.

Thank you for your continued support!

Remember if you have any concerns you would like to discuss, please contact the school.
