Welsh Language Charter’s Questionnaire Results October 2018

Ysgol y Gwernant—Piws/Purple

Ysgolion Sir Ddinbych/Denbighshire Schools—Pinc/pink

As you can see the school is performing well and our results are higher that lots of other schools in Denbighshire. But the results show that we need to :

Speak Welsh on the school yard.

Speak Welsh in the corridor and in the dinner hall.

Use more Welsh whilst using the internet, apps and texting.

Use more Welsh outside of the school e.g. in the shops, cafes,….

What have the Welsh Language Charter Council decided to do?

  • Continue to use Reward Cards to collect stickers for speaking Welsh on the yard.
  • Learn playground games to play with the younger children.
  • Compete on the “Sialens” App (quiz) against other Denbighshire schools.
  • Continue to develop links with the community to raise the profile of the Welsh language.

We would like to kindly ask you to try and encourage your child to listen to more Welsh Music and watch more Welsh television programmes.

If you know anyone who would like to acquire Welsh resources for their  establishment within the community, please contact Mrs Diane Davies by coming to the school or emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Thank you for your support.
